Job Title: Protection Independent Contractor
Location: Hanoi office, with frequent travel
Timing: April 15 th to June 31 st , 2019 (Independent Contract-IC)
Time Commitment: 15-18 working days per month
The Role: We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to support Samaritan’s Purse Vietnam with Protection Projects. The role is responsible for supporting project activities in areas of logistical and administrative support, monitoring trainings that includes extensive travel, and household visits. Two projects will be supported in this role. The Independent Contractor will report to Protection Project Coordinator. We are seeking a dedicated, hardworking, and responsible individual to fill this role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Protection Programs are carried out in Lao Cai and Lai Chau. These projects focus educating people on human trafficking prevention, safe migration, victim referral and support, along with children protection. There is a livelihood component to this project where beneficiaries receive chickens. Primary tasks are monitoring and participating in training events.
Other Responsibilities:
- Report writing; must be comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
- Administrative and logistical support for 2 projects.
QUALIFICATIONS AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree or experience in project facilitation
- Experience working with ethnic minorities and/or rural communities of mountainous areas Vietnam strongly preferred
- Fluency in Vietnamese, intermediate English strongly preferred
- Ability to travel to remote villages in varying weather conditions to carry out project activities
- Excellent planning, time management and organizational skills; high level of integrity
- Strong willingness and passion to see the awareness of people improve through education, training, communication event.
- Excellent communication skills – written and oral
This is a contracted position to begin with a three month agreement with potential for renewal.
