The German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) is commited to helping Vietnam train and improve vocational teachers, in order to enhance the human resources autonomy for vocational schools, said Dr. Juergen Hartwig, director of GIZ’s program on reforming technical and vocational training in Vietnam. The program, which is financed by Germany’s Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development, is a joint cooperation between the GIZ and the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET), under Vietnam’s Ministry of Labor-Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA). Dr. Hartwig noted that GIZ would also help Vietnam build the legal framework on financial autonomy. He also referred to Germany’s experiences that both the State and businesses join hands in the task. Besides, the director talked about the past, current, and future cooperation between the GIZ and the MoLISA. The MoLISA became the state management agency over vocational training in 2017, and has so far reviewed 2,000 vocational units to pick some schools to become high-quality units. The GIZ will join that task for three schools. (Dan Sinh, Bao Dan Sinh)
