On June 21, the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and the Urban Development Agency under Vietnam’s Ministry of Construction inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on collaboration on sustainable urban development in Vietnam.
The MoU is aimed to build a technical supporting project for the Vietnam-Swiss urban development program, which uses SECO’s non-refundable grants in 2021-2024, reported the Xay Dung (Construction) newspaper, the ministry’s mouthpiece.
Switzerland’s development program in Vietnam will contribute to the implementation of the Politburo’s Resolution 06-NQ/TW, the National Urban Development Strategy, and the Prime Minister’s Decision 438/QD-TTg.
Since 2008, Vietnam has been a priority in SECO’s cooperation strategy. SECO’s development cooperation strategy in Vietnam in 2017-2020 focused on promoting sustainable urban development, adapting to climate change, and supporting the management of urban areas. (Bao Xay Dung [1])
