The World Stroke Organization (WSO) has rewarded three Vietnamese hospitals with Platinum Status on their stroke treatment, Director of Hue Central Hospital Pham Nhu Hiep said on June 11. The three hospitals are the Hue Central Hospital in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue, the Dong Nai General Hospital in the southeast province of Dong Nai, and the 103 Military Hospital in Hanoi City. The WSO ranks the stroke units and centers around the world in the order of gold, platinum and diamond status, basing on strict requirements in training, equipment, and the treatment of acute strokes, among others. Last year, Vietnam had two hospitals, comprising of the 105 Military Hospital in Hanoi and the Medical University Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, awarded Gold Status on treatment quality by the European Stroke Organization (ESO).
