Medical workers at rehabilitation centers for children living with cerebral palsy in Vietnam’s central province of Thua Thien-Hue joined the first training course within the framework of a project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), state media reported. The project, with support from the Federation Handicap International, is being conducted by partners in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Dong Nai, Danang City, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien-Hue until September. They were equipped with knowledge and skills to detect cerebral palsy in children, care for children affected by the diseases at different ages and train them in basic daily movements. Earlier on June 17-28, a delegation from the United States’ Resuge International offered free surgery to 60 patients with birth defects at Hue Central Hospital in Thua Thien-Hue.
