Vietnam has been chosen for a project against infectious diseases globally in a credit pack worth $40 million launched by the U.S. government. The project which is within the Global Health Security Agenda 2014 will enable Vietnam to combat with epidemic diseases. Accordingly, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will help Vietnam’s medical institutions to improve capacity of testing dangerous epidemic diseases, including the Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV). The CDC will help Vietnam’s agencies to build data and share information to better deal with outbreak threats.
