Vietnam’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE) on June 25 partnered with the World Bank (WB) to hold a workshop on the role of carbon pricing, market-based instruments, the potential for Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) implementation as well as its applications in Vietnam, local media reported. The program was within the framework of the Vietnam Partnership for Market Readiness (VNPMR) project initiated by WB. Carbon pricing will bring new opportunities for investors and firms to purchase carbon credits, thus contributing to environmental protection, said Deputy Manager of the VNPMR Tang The Cuong said.
