The Vietnamese government has allowed localities across the country to pilot the home isolation of F1 cases, who had direct contact with COVID-19 infections, the Government Office (GO) quoted the conclusion of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam as announcing. Deputy PM Dam, who heads the national steering committee on fighting COVID-19, highlighted health safety while carrying out the home quarantine measures and urged the health ministry to update detailed guidelines for self-isolation. So far, the hotspots of Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, and Ho Chi Minh City have carried out home quarantine measures for F1 cases. As the current biggest infection cluster in Vietnam, HCMC has piloted home quarantine on all the city since July 8. The municipal authorities have proposed removing some conditions to expand the home quarantine scopes and setting up 17,000 COVID-19 supervision teams. The city has planned to isolate F1 cases at home and hotels to prepare for the scenario of 20,000 COVID-19 infections and 200,000 F1 cases.
