Vietnam’s National Assembly (NA), the country’s Congress, on June 17 morning adopted the amended Law on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, in which approved to add naturally-triggered forest fire incidents to natural disasters with a majority of 92.34% of votes in favor, state media reported. The supplemented law also stipulates authority to mobilize, collect, and allocate relief resources, along with amended and supplemented regulations on science-technology and international cooperation. The lawmakers passed the revised Law on Dykes with the addition of several banned behaviors within the dyke-protected areas such as construction, waste discharge, exploitation of minerals, and obstruction of flows.
