Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations is one of the sub-recipients of “The Global Fund supported project on HIV/AIDS”, funded by The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. The target of the VUSTA’s project is to reduce the HIV/AIDS related mortality and improve the quality of life of people living with and vulnerable to HIV/AIDS in 10 provinces covered by the project via strengthening capacity and promoting the participation of civil society organizations and community in the national response to HIV/AIDS in Vietnam. The 2nd phase of the project is expected to run for three years, from 2013 to 2015 with a potential to be expanded.

Church World Service (CWS) is an American NGO, which began its work in Vietnam in 1954. Since then, CWS Vietnam has supported Vietnam continuously with projects primarily focusing on improving health services, access to water and sanitation, nutrition for children, education for ethnic minorities and disaster relief.
Peace House Shelter Project, run by Center for Women and Development – a subordinate unit of Vietnam Women’s Union, was established as a joint effort by Vietnam Women’s Union and Spanish Agency for International Development Co-operation (AECID) to combat trafficking in persons by providing assistance to trafficking victims. Need-based support services including safe accommodation, health care, counseling, vocational training, legal aids and job placement are provided for women and children who are victims of trafficking in persons. As a pilot model established in 2007, the Project has so far supported more than 150 trafficking victims from different provinces and backgrounds across the country.
