Hagar, established in 1994, is a specialist trauma-informed care agency that works primarily with women and children suffering from trauma as a result of human trafficking, slavery and abuse. Hagar International in Vietnam (henceforth Hagar Vietnam) was launched in 2009 in response to the growing magnitude of human trafficking and exploitation in Vietnam and evidenced needs of survivors. Today Hagar implements programs in Afghanistan, Cambodia, Singapore, and Vietnam; and through partners in Myanmar and the Solomon Islands.
In 2021, Hagar Vietnam reached more than 1,309,522 people directly and indirectly through our five 2020-2022 strategic goals: Heal, Prevent, Partner, Empower, and Influence.
The Sustainable Health Development Centre (VietHealth) is a Vietnamese NGO working in the field of healthcare and community development with a particular focus on clean water and sanitation, supporting public health in disasters/emergency setting, sexual and reproductive health, maternal and child health, HIV/AIDs, disability, and primary health care. VietHealth’s Mission is to improve physical and mental health of children, women and vulnerable groups of disability, ethnic minorities, poor households, remote areas, and areas affected by the disasters and the most at-risk population (MARP) by developing, piloting, and expanding intervention models of affordable and convenient community health care services and solutions.
The objective of DGRV project in Viet Nam is to contribute to the sustainable and effective poverty reduction via the development of social structures and favorable legal framework for the cooperatives and pre-cooperative groups. The project is funded by BMZ (German Ministry for economic cooperation and development) and has been implemented in Vietnam for many years.
