ILO, EU Help Vietnam Standardize Vocational Training Teachers
The European Union (EU) and the International Labor Organization (ILO) have cooperated with Vietnam Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) to open a vocational training course to standardize local teachers. During the two-month course, trainees will be provided with international-standard teaching skills and modern teaching methods, the An Ninh Thu Do newspaper reported Wednesday.
Vietnam now has 102 vocational training colleges, 265 vocational training schools, and more than 1,860 vocational training centers. The figure triples that of 2008. Annually, vocational training schools train more than 1.5 million laborers. The country has targeted to raise the ratio of the national trained workforce to 30% in 2010 from 28% in 2009.
