Training Assistant
The UNV-funded project “Strengthening capacity of Volunteerism for Development in Vietnam (VDVN Project)” implemented by Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) is seeking for a qualified candidate for the position of Training Assistant, which will be contracted by HCYU and will be benefited from incentives and terms and conditions of service set by HCYU.
1. Description of Duties and Expected Results
The Training Assistant is expected to fulfil the following specific tasks, among other things:
- Support the preparation of training materials and documentation, including translating between English and Vietnamese.
- Support in planning activities for training
- Provide necessary assistance to the Training Specialist and Project Advisor in finalizing Training Need Assessment Report and conducting meetings and interactive sessions with partners
- Act as an assistant for the training team while conducting workshops, meetings and trainings.
- Arrange meetings with donors and other institutions, support working groups, meetings and other high-profile events, help to attend potential visiting missions, particularly in relation to training component of the project.
- Assist the Project Manager, Project Advisor and Training specialist in liaison with project stakeholders and organizations that have potentials to collaborate around volunteer management training.
- Other tasks as required by the Project Manager, Project Advisor and Training Specialist.
2. Qualifications/Requirements:
2.1 Essential requirements and experience
- Graduate or equivalent degree from a recognized university in social sciences;
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience;
- Good translation skills from Vietnamese to English and vice versa;
- Good skills in supporting training activities including planning, logistic supports, facilitation assistance and making training evaluation reports;
- High level of computer literacy, particularly in MS Office and ability to operate standard office equipments;
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent ability to organize his/her workload;
- Demonstrated good health
- Vietnamese nationality.
2.2 Highly desired qualifications and experience
- Prior volunteer experience and commitment to volunteerism;
- Knowledge and understanding of training in volunteer management;
- A demonstrated high level of professionalism and maturity and an ability to work in high- pressure working environment;
- Positive attitude and ability to work independently as well as part of a close-knit team in a professional and timely manner;
- Good understanding of the organization context and setting of HCYU;
- Ability to prioritize, summarize, analyse and organize information regarding trainings.
