Save the Children, the world’s largest independent organisation for children, delivers immediate and lasting improvements to children’s lives in over 50 countries through emergency relief and long-term development. 

Save the Children in Vietnam (SCiV) works to promote every child’s rights to survival, protection, participation and development as set forth in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.  The current programme focuses on the following core sectors: Health and Nutrition; HIV/AIDS prevention; Care and Support; Education; Child Protection; Child-focused Emergency Preparedness and Response; and the Child Rights Agenda, including civil society development, economic opportunities, child poverty research, and advocacy for child-friendly development policy and practice.

SCiV is responding to the impact of the two serious typhoons of 2009 in Quang Tri and Phu Yen provinces. SCiV is targeting vulnerable children and families with an integrated, livelihoods, health, WATSAN, Education and Disaster Risk Reduction programme.

They are now seeking for qualified Vietnamese nationals to set up our project team in Quang Tri and Phu Yen. The detailed positions are as follows:

1. Team based in Quang Tri:
1. Livelihoods Project Manager
2. Health (EBF) Officer
3. Programme Support Officer

2. Team based in Phu Yen:
1. Livelihoods Officer
2. Programme Support Assistant

Person specifications for Livelihoods Project Manager:
- Master or Bachelors degree in social sciences or a relevant field
- 3-5 years of work experience, preferably in livelihood or emergencies issues facing rural communities
- Excellent project management and interpersonal skills
- Good English language skills
- Experience in working with government counterparts and communities 
- Excellent communication and team-working skills
- Ability and willingness to travel to and spend significant periods of time in disaster prone areas.

Person specifications for Officers:
- University degree - preferably Bachelors degree in social sciences or a relevant field
- At least 2 years of work experience preferably in health, livelihood or emergencies sector
- Good English language skills
- Experience in working with government counterparts and communities 
- Excellent communication and team-working skills
- Ability and willingness to travel to and spend significant periods of time in disaster prone areas.

Person specifications for Assistants:
- University degree
- At least 1 year of work experience in administration, programmes, or finance
- Enthusiasm, hard working
- Good English language skills
- Competent in working with partners ata  local level
- Good communication and team-working skills
- Ability and willingness to travel to and spend significant periods of time in disaster prone areas.
