World Bank to Lend Vietnam $50M to Reform University Education

The World Bank (WB) will provide a 40-year soft loan of SDR33.6 million ($50 million) for Vietnam to implement the first phase of the Higher Education Development Policy Program (HEDPP). The WB and the State Bank of Vietnam inked an agreement on the funding on Aug 12, the Vietnamese government said on its website Nov 4. The program aims to help Vietnam train qualified workforce for the national industrialization and modernization as well as the international economic integration.
