Program Manager
Location: Hanoi, Vietnam
Start Date: December 2010
Overall Responsibilities:
HAIVN seeks a Program Manager to work in Hanoi and provide guidance and coordination for programmatic activities associated with the implementation of HAIVN projects in the Northern Provinces
of Vietnam. The Program Manager will work closely with HAIVN partners on general program activities, including administration, implementation and reporting. She/He will work under the direct supervision of the Medical Director (Hanoi based) and in close cooperation with other staff in Vietnam.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Assist Medical Director in Hanoi as well as HAIVN partners in Vietnam to facilitate the development and implementation of program strategies, workplans, and monitoring training activities.
- Provides technical guidance and oversight to HAIVN program staff in planning and implementing program activities in the Northern Provinces of Vietnam.
- Provides technical guidance to HAIVN partners and institutions involved in HAIVN supported programs to assist their planning and implementation of program activities.
- Coordinate preparation of timely periodical reports and present monthly, quarterly and any other required reports.
- Represent HAIVN at conferences and meetings with Vietnamese government offices to ensure cooperation, collaboration and coordination of HAIVN activities.
- Assist in recruitment and management of local staff for HAIVN in Hanoi.
Reporting: Medical Director (Hanoi based)
Qualifications:
- Degree in Medicine and/or Masters of Public Health.
- Experience in HIV/AIDS-related issues is required.
- Ability to develop and maintain close relationships with relevant stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to understand sensitive policy issues and coordinate programs accordingly.
- Previous management experience is desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluency in oral and written Vietnamese and English.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact professionally with culturally and linguistically diverse patients, staff, and consultants.
- Self-starter and strong multitasking and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in team environment.
