Helen Keller International-Vietnam is a US non-governmental organization established in Vietnam in 2004. Its mission is to save the sight and lives of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged by combating the causes and consequences of blindness and malnutrition. We do this by establishing programs grounded in evidence-based research in eye health and nutrition.

After nearly 20 years of being among the leading force in eliminating preventable vision loss and malnutrition for Vietnamese communities and gaining significant achievements, we would like to announce that our office will cease operation in Vietnam effective as of 30 June 2022. This decision was taken with great care and consideration for the changing development landscape. In the past decades, Vietnam has steadily improved in key development indicators and the economy has grown rapidly. Government and local partners have now successfully taken over Helen Keller International's programs, achieving true sustainability. We feel confident that we can now close our programs, knowing that they are in the best of hands, and with a sense of pride for the small part we have played in Vietnam's success.

We are extremely grateful for the support and close collaboration of our colleagues and partners, national and international, at all levels, over the past two decades in Vietnam, to ensure a seamless handover as we wrap up program activities and close our office following the completion of our commitment in Vietnam.
