Vietnam Hails 120 Outstanding Students of Ethnic Minorities

Vietnam’s Hanoi capital city hosted the ceremony of hailing 120 outstanding students of ethnic minorities on November 12, state media reported, adding that this was the seventh edition of the event. The ceremony featured Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, also a Politburo member; Ms. Truong Thi Mai, head of Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC)’s Mass Mobilization Commission and also a Politburo member; Mr. Tran Thanh Man, head of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and also a Politburo member, among others. At the event, Minister-Chairman of the Government’s Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs Do Van Chien stressed that Vietnam always focuses on developing education in needy, mountainous, remote areas. Among 120 students, notable ones are 17 with first or second prizes at national contest for outstanding students, six having first or second prizes at national science-technology contests, among others.
