Vietnam Launches Women’s Economic Empowerment Project Funded by Canada

The humanitarian aid organization CARE International in Vietnam has launched the Advancing Women’s Economic Empowerment in Vietnam (AWEEV) project, funded by the Global Affairs Canada, local media said. The project will support over 2,600 women and men of ethnic minorities in nine communes of northern Lai Chau province-based Tam Duong district and northern Ha Giang province’s Quang Binh district in 2021-2025. It will promote the economic empowerment of poor rural women and ethnic females in Vietnam and strengthen their engagement in paid economic activities. The project will get technical assistance from the Center for the Development of Organic Agriculture (CODAS), the non-governmental RED Communication, the VietED Foundation, and local partners.
