Vietnam MoH Proposes Declaring Medical Equipment Price in Phases from 2025

The Vietnamese Ministry of Health has proposed declaring the prices of 26 types of medical equipment in phases starting from 2025, local media reported.

The health ministry made the proposal in its draft circular on declaring the prices of medical equipment that has sought public opinions.

Under the draft, some items such as dialysis machines and ventilators will have their prices declared from January 1, 2025, some such as X-ray systems and CT scanners from January 1, 2026, and some such as surgical knives and ultrasound machines from January 1, 2027.

The draft circular specifies that the Ministry of Health’s Department of Infrastructure and Medical Equipment will handle the receipt of price declarations.

Entities required to declare prices are either the companies owning the medical device registrations or those authorized by the device owners to distribute and sell the equipment if the owner is not actively involved in business operations.
