Vietnam, Russia Promote Cooperation in Education, Science-Technology

The Vietnam-Russia Committee on Educational, Scientific and Technological Cooperation convened its fifth meeting in Moscow on September 10, part of the 25th session of the Russia-Vietnam Intergovernmental Committee on cooperation in economy-trade and science-technology.

The event featured Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc, Russian Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Konstantin Mogilevsky, and other officials.

Deputy Minister Dinh highlighted the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, affirming that Vietnam views science and technology collaboration with Russia as vital for economic development.

In reply, Russian Deputy Minister Konstantin Mogilevsky affirmed Russia’s commitment to fostering cooperation with Vietnam in education, science, and technology, citing recent achievements in joint initiatives.

He noted the active collaboration on marine research, with plans to complete an agreement on transferring the research vessel “Professor Gagarinsky” to Vietnam for joint marine studies this year.

The deputy minister said that Russia will continue to offer Vietnam 1,000 scholarships annually, with a new agreement for recruiting students for the 2025-2026 academic year.

The meeting also addressed launching several new competitive research projects with equal funding from both nations.
