Coalition Coordinator

Following a series of consultation workshops organized in October 2009 and early 2010, thirty-two representatives of organizations, associations, companies and individuals who are working in the fields of education, fighting for the rights of children, women, ethnic minority groups and vulnerable groups, and preventing social problems have gathered in Hanoi for the launching workshop of Vietnam Coalition for Education for All (VCEFA) on June 25th 2010. Although this is a relatively late step of Vietnam comparing to other countries, the establishment of VCEAF is a stepping stone towards National Civil Society Fund (NCSEF) in Vietnam in order to promote national education system.

Financing by the Civil Society Education Fund, through Asia South Pacific Assocciation for Basic and Adult Education (ASPBAE) and support from Actionaid Vietnam as lead agency, VCEFA’s primary objective is to establish itself as an independent advocacy group that will bring about a strong voice and consensus among international and local civil society organizations to engage the government towards the achievement of Education For All (EFA) in Vietnam..

VCEFA is seeking to recruit a well-qualified and experienced Vietnamese citizen for the following position:
COALITION COORDINATOR:
The post is offered on an fixed-term contract, based in Hanoi office.

Job purpose summary: Provides necessary supports to coordinate and implement activities of VCEFA for setting up the National Education Coalition to work towards the Education For All goals and promoting the National Civil Society Education Fund in Vietnam.

Job specifics:
- Coordinate and implements activities as designed in the approved proposal
- Establishes, develops and manages partnership and networking
- Supports members in planning and implementing activities as designed in the approved proposal
- Provides supports and capacity building and institutional development to members
- Carry out monitoring and evaluation of the designed activities
- Involves in advocacy work (workshops, events, etc.)
- Compiles documents and reports to Coalition and donors
- Proactive in proposing ideas to enhance activities of Coalition
- Facilitate donors servicing
- Document and share information among the network

Reports to: President of VCEFA and Vice-Presidents

The requirements:     
- University degree on social science or development studies, post-graduate is preferred.
- At least 05 years working experience in programme management
- INGO working experience is preferable
- Experience in Education policy and development
- Analytical, report writing, and presentation skills
- Excellent networking and communication skills
- Excellent in computer skills
- Experiences in fund raising.
- Good networking and partnership building techniques
- Experience in report and proposal writing skills
- Good command of English
- Excellent in computer skills
