Project Manager
Rutgers WPF (formerly World Population Foundation) is a Dutch Non Governmental Organisation aiming to improve sexual and reproductive health and ensuring sexual and reproductive rights in Asia, Africa and the Netherlands. Rutgers WPF has an exciting programme that focuses on the needs and rights of adolescents and young people. We are now seeking an energetic and capable person for the vacancy of: Project Manager
(contract to 31st December 2012)
Within the agreed programme framework, the Project Manager will work flexibly as part of a team that manages project(s), develops new programmes/project proposal and advocates for better sexual and reproductive health. The work content will vary, and will include:
Project Management. For any project allocated to manage, the postholder will:
- Strengthen relationships with partners, governmental agencies and donors
- Work with partners and the team to develop project strategies and work plans;
- Facilitate meetings/workshops and discussions with partners on implementation issues;
- Participate in the development and review of all project documents;
- Prepare Terms of Reference for consultants and manage them;
- Coordinate, supervise and oversee project activities;
- Monitor the budget and manage the finances of project;
- Prepare reports according to Rutgers WPF standards;
- Conduct frequent field travel as required.
- Supervise, delegate and coach Programme Assistants allocated to the project Programme/Project Development
Programme Development
- Propose new projects/programme ideas
- Participate in the design and development of new projects
- Contribute to proposal writing and budgeting
- Liaise with other stakeholders as necessary in developing new projects
Networking and Advocacy
- Attend conferences and seminars in Vietnam or internationally
- Attend network meetings in Hanoi
- Contribute to advocacy and public awareness events/campaigns
They are looking for a candidate with the following attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree development studies, social science or economics;
- Over 2 years working experience in project management for NGO(s);
- Sound knowledge of, and interest in, public health and social development issues including gender and SRHR;
- Experience in project proposal writing, including budgets and logframes, is preferable;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to work effectively within a team and to supervise/coach staff;
- Committed to achieving results
- Ability and willingness to travel
- Flexibility in work including a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations
- Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Fluent English and Vietnamese, both spoken and written
