International Advocacy Consultant
Organization/Project Overview:
Plan is an international humanitarian, child centred community development organization without religious, political or governmental affiliation. Plan’s vision is a world in which all children realize their full potential in societies that respect people’s rights and dignity.
Plan Vietnam is carrying out Country Strategic Plan III (2011 – 2016) with the application of Child Centered Community Development Approach (CCCD). Advocacy has become an indispensable part of programming of Plan in Vietnam. All current Project designs include advocacy components. These form the basic advocacy framework of Plan in Vietnam, aiming at lasting improvements of child rights realization in different program areas.
As a part the CSP, Plan in Vietnam is the developing of a participatory and evidence-based advocacy strategy. For this reason, Plan in Vietnam is looking for an international consultant. The specific outcomes of this consultancy will be:
- A organizational advocacy competency assessment will be conducted and documented;
- A participatory and evidence-based advocacy strategy will be developed and written.
Consultancy duration: Beginning of November – Mid of December 2011
Key requirements:
- Proven extensive experience of at least seven years in child rights advocacy at national and international levels. Relevant experiences in Vietnam or Asia will be an advantage.
- Knowledge and Experience with strategy development, especially in term of advocacy
- Knowledge and Experience with Rights Based Approach or Rights Based Programming
- At least a Masters degree in a relevant field (e.g. law, social sciences, development studies)
