Capacity Building Advisor
Winrock International, an international not for profit organization, is seeking applications for the position of Capacity Building Advisor for a multi-year USAID-funded Program named Vietnam Forests and Deltas which aims to strengthen the foundations for, and community-based practice of, climate change mitigation and adaptation in the forest and delta landscapes in Vietnam.
Responsibilities:
- Lead initial and ongoing capacity assessment of partner NGOs and develop and execute customized capacity strengthening plan for each of them
- Oversee all training and capacity development activities undertaken as part of the project, including trainings, partner forums and other events needed to achieve capacity building goals.
- Monitor progress against capacity development plans; make necessary adjustments in plans and strategies.
- Develop training curriculum and other materials as needed to support training and capacity development.
- Lead the development of a strategy for mainstreaming governance principles and processes aimed at increasing participation, transparency, responsiveness and accountability to service users in the delivery of climate mitigation and adaptation services.
- Contribute to quarterly reports and success stories. Assist with capacity building data collection, analysis and dissemination. Serve as the point person for capacity building with the donor and external organizations.
- Identify and document best practices and challenges in capacity building in climate adaptation and mitigation initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree or equivalent professional experience in education, management or other relevant field.
- At least 5 years of experience in organizational development, capacity assessments and strengthening.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively with partners and transfer knowledge to diverse audiences through workshops, training, meetings applying participatory methods.
- Experience in adult training methodology, curricula development, course organization, problem based training, and training impact evaluations.
- Demonstrated technical expertise and working knowledge of participatory processes and methodologies.
- Willingness to travel approximately 25% of time within country
- English and Vietnamese language fluency.
