Paid Full-time Program Internship
East Meets West (EMW) is one of the largest and most productive humanitarian development non-government organizations working in Vietnam for 25 years.
The East Meets West's Breath of Life (BOL) program develops customized, clinical solutions to significantly reduce neonatal mortality and morbidity rate in developing countries. The program is now being implemented in the countries of Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, East Timor, Myanmar, Philippines, and India. BOL provides custom-designed, low-cost equipment to hospitals, and targeted training to medical personnel, to save the lives of infants suffering from common newborn pathologies. To ensure sustainability, BOL works to strengthen linkages with local health authorities to involve them in integrating these technologies into the larger health system.
In response of program development, the program is seeking 02 high qualified candidates to take the vacancy of Program internship based in Hanoi for 3 months. The interns will work under supervision of the Program Officer and potentially be promoted to Program Assistant according to their performance.
TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Main Duties/Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
1. Support Program staff in working with Program database update and management;
2. Support Program staff in running operational and clinical researches (communicate with local partners, routinely collect monitoring data from hospitals, input and update data into the database);
3. Provide admin and logistical support to general program activities;
4. Organize and participate in fieldtrips to local hospitals in Vietnam;
5. Provide English/Vietnamese translation and interpretation when needed; and,
6. Provide daily support to other office work.
Desired qualifications and attributes:
+ A bachelor’s degree. Medical/public health-related background is preferable.
+ Previous professional experience as a volunteer or full-time staff in NGOs/community development/health research programs
+ Experience or keen interest in working with database/research
+ Excellent in both written and spoken English
+ Good interpersonal, communication and negotiation and presentation skills
+ Competence in MS Windows programs, word processing, Excel, etc.
Salary and benefits will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
