Senior Proposal Writers

SNV Vietnam is looking for Senior Proposal Writers. Positions are short term and dependent on the release of funding opportunities (short term consultancy contract)

SNV has been working in Vietnam since 1995. Using market based approaches, SNV is committed to reducing poverty by catalyzing environmentally sustainable solutions for the poor in agriculture, energy, water & sanitation, and REDD+.

SNV is seeking senior, professional, Proposal Writers. We are interested to hear from non-technical Proposal Writers/ Bid Coordinators and those with technical expertise (who could input into project design) in the following sectors: Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH), Renewable Energy (RE), Sustainable Agriculture and Reducing Emission from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+). An understanding of the Vietnamese development environment is also desirable. Once selected by SNV you will enter our database and be contacted on an ad hoc basis to support Business Development and Technical Staff in developing proposals. These opportunities depend on the release of tender and grant opportunities by funders.

Candidate profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in International Development or related subjects
• A minimum of 8 years’ relevant work experience (in international development, bid development, or communications).
• A minimum of 5 years professional proposal writing.
• Evidence of developing winning proposals to the World Bank; Asia Development Bank; the German Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU); AusAID; NL Agency.
• Technical experience in SNV Vietnam’s four sectors is preferred: Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH), Renewable Energy (RE), Agriculture or Reducing Emission from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+)
• Familiarity with Vietnam’s donor and government environment
• Good understanding of gender, climate change, and social inclusion issues, specifically within a Vietnamese context.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English
• Good computer skills in MS-applications

Duration: Contracts will depend on individual bid opportunities. They vary between one week full time and several days spread over two months. Payment may be linked to deliverables or time based, and depends on the type of assignment.
