International Consultant to Conduct a Gender Analysis of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management
In September 2013, the Central Committee for Floods and Storms Control (CFSC) issued a decision on the official membership of the Women’s Union in CFSC at all levels from central to commune. By this decision, women participation and leadership in disaster risk reduction decision making mechanism is officially recognized. However, women’s participation in disaster risk reduction and management will remain ineffective if they are incapable to identify substantial gendered concerns and more importantly to integrate those issues into planning and decision making process. In order to support UN Women, Women’s Union and other partners working on gender mainstreaming in DRR, UN Women in Viet Nam will conduct a gender analysis in DRR and DRM to identify substantial gender issues as well as entry point to integrate these concerns into DRR/DRM planning and decision making process.
UN Women is looking for a qualified international consultant to work as team leader to conduct the gender analysis in DRR/DRM in collaboration with a national consultant in 6 provinces in Vietnam. The contract duration is from 20 September to 20 January 2015. Please kindly find the TOR for detail information.
Closing time for applications is 5.00 PM (Hanoi time, GMT+7) on 02 September 2014
Interested candidates are requested to submit an application to UN Women via email to [email protected]. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Closing date for applications is 2 September 2014.
