I. Summary of the Post:
Under the direct supervision of the Representative and close interaction with the Deputy Representative, SM provides assistance in initiatives related to UN coordination, relations with Donors and partners, Joint Programmatic interventions and provide interpretation support to the Representative for advocacy/programme events.
II. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Active documentation support to advocacy and partnership building with national, development and private sector partners as part of the office’s advocacy plans (20%);
2. Perform vital liaison functions to support front office in organization, recording and follow up of UN and Development partners’ coordination engagements (20%);
3. Review and update key priority milestones for the Office emanating from CMT and partner engagement groups with the aim of maintaining/staying the course on agreed actions and follow up including in relation to advocacy and resource mobilization (15%);
4. Provide support to the Representative in convening, coordinating and providing input into the work of JPGs, functional clusters and other fora involving other development partners (20%);
5. Supporting in the interpretation and translation on the occasion of special engagements in Ha Noi and in the interior of the country as part of multi-stakeholder engagement for the sake of UNICEF’s programmes for children in Viet Nam (15%);
6. Contributing support to the planning of special 2015 events such as the 40th anniversary of the cooperation between UNICEF and Viet Nam, the 25th Anniversary of the signing of CRC by Viet Nam (10%).
III. Qualifications:
1. Education
- Master’s degree in Social Science, Public Administration and Management or other relevant field in social sciences. University degree may be considered in combination with progressive professional experience in the relevant field.
- Specialized training in Office Administration or modern office procedures desirable, as well as knowledge of Protocol.
2. Work Experience: Minimum 3-5 years progressively responsible work experience in the relevant area.
3. Language Proficiency : Fluency in English and Vietnamese.
4. OTHER SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES (Indicate what other skills and attributes required, such as drafting ability, organizational or analytical skills)
- Familiarity with Government/Diplomatic Protocol.
