Job Title: NATIONAL SALES COORDINATOR
Reports to: Director, Product Social Marketing
Job Responsibilities: The National Sales Coordinator works closely with Director, Product Social Marketing and Field Supervisors to achieve coverage targets for essential health products related to preventing HIV, Hepatitis C, diarrheal disease, malaria and malnutrition—namely low dead space syringes, SafeWat household water treatment, malaria diagnosis/treatment products and hygienic latrines. The Sales Coordinator will play a critical role in designing and overseeing the execution of trade marketing strategies to motivate pharmacy, FMCG and other commercial outlets to contribute to Vietnam’s critical health challenges by stocking/displaying/promoting essential health products and by correctly screening/referring customers as appropriate for tuberculosis, malaria and HIV/STI care. The Sales Coordinator has direct oversight of regional sales through multiple channels in urban areas, as well as a team of rural Field Officers focusing on rural/ mountainous districts of select provinces.
S/he spends at least 70% of the time in the field to coach, monitor and motivate field-based Sales teams, solicit input from consumers & traders, monitor trade marketing & sales promotional efforts and build local partnerships to increase private sector contributions to priority health issues. The Sales Coordinator assists the Product Social Marketing Director with representational duties as needed, to strengthen relationships with commercial, civil society and government partners.
Major duties:
- Day-to-day management and oversight of PSI’s Field Officers in accordance with program targets and PSI policies.
- Develop, expand and improve the efficiency of distribution systems at every level (distributors, sub-distributors, retail) to fill supply chain gaps and improve efficiency of commercial sector delivery of critical health products and services
- Contribute to strategic program design and marketing planning meetings, based on insights from field-based Sales team members, consumers and traders
- Work closely with Research department & other deparmental managers to generate and analyze practical monitoring reports & use sales monitoring data to improve performance
- Work closely with Marketing and Program departments to adapt, design and monitor use of communication materials targeting consumers as well as traders, to motivate healthier behaviors
- Actively engage with commercial, civil society and government partners to increase coordination, sales & total market approach results
Selection criteria
- University degree in business, sales or another relevant field
- At least 5 years work experience in commercial sales activities including establishing distribution networks and monitoring field-based sales activities
- Demonstrated ability to motivate field-based teams across multiple provinces
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including negotiation & presentation
- English verbal and writing skills
