Technical Officer, HIV Care and Treatment
FHI 360 is an international, non-governmental organization that works with the Vietnam Ministry of Health, provincial health services, and local non-government organizations to promote the health and well-being of the Vietnamese people, particularly vulnerable and marginalized populations. In Vietnam, FHI 360 is currently building the capacity of local organizations in HIV prevention, care & treatment, drug treatment policy & practice, research and evaluation.
We are currently seeking a qualified, experienced, and highly motivated candidate for the position of Technical Officer, HIV Care and Treatment to work in our Hanoi office:
Main responsibilities:
- Support the FHI 360/Vietnam Country Program in the area of comprehensive HIV/AIDS care, support and treatment including antiretroviral therapy (ART).
- Provide technical support into the development of materials for comprehensive HIV care, support and treatment at various levels of Vietnam’s health structure.
- Provide technical monitoring, assistance and evaluation of SMART TA supported HIV out-patient clinics as assigned.
- Serve as a technical resource on TB/HIV integrated intervention, test and treat (mountainous model) and other technical areas within the FHI 360 technical team as well as with other key stakeholders in Vietnam.
- Support and strengthen coordination between prevention, HIV counseling and testing, HIV care and treatment for most-at-risk groups.
- Transfer skills and technical knowledge to groom and prepare competent local staff, NGO partners, and other counterparts to design, implement and monitor comprehensive treatment, care and support initiatives.
- Experience and abilities for the position:
- Master’s degree in Medicine or public health fields
- Significant experience in providing clinical and programmatic management of HIV, preferably including ART within prevention and care programs in Vietnam
- Ability to work well with all project staff, implementing agencies, GNV counterparts, donor agencies and the media communities;
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills in both Vietnamese and English;
- Computer literacy (MS Office, email, Internet Explorer...)
- Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of the political and ethical issues surrounding HIV infection;
- Ability to travel as necessary
