ChildFund Vietnam is the representative office of ChildFund Australia – an independent and non-religious international development organisation that works to reduce poverty for children in the developing world.

ChildFund Australia is a member of the ChildFund Alliance – a global network of 11 organisations which assists more than 14 million children and families in 63 countries. ChildFund Australia is a registered charity and is fully accredited by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade which manages the Australian Government’s overseas aid program.

ChildFund began working in Vietnam in 1995 and operates community development programs in the areas of education, water and sanitation, sustainable livelihoods, child rights and child protection, food security, and maternal and child health, including HIV prevention. With a strong focus on building the resilience of young people, ChildFund also gives children and youth the opportunity to take part in sports, vocational education and life skills training, and supports their participation in local decision-making processes.

ChildFund’s programs are being implemented across the northern provinces of Bac Kan, Cao Bang and Hoa Binh, where the majority of people are from ethnic minority groups, often the most vulnerable or marginalised sections of the population.

We are now seeking for candidates for the following position:

ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT SPECIALIST

Position Type: Full-time, 3-year contract.

Position Description

The Economic Empowerment Specialist (EES) is the economic empowerment technical lead in strengthening and expanding ChildFund Vietnam’s existing economic empowerment projects, in coordination with colleagues in the Hanoi and ADOs, as well as with the International Program Coordinator in Sydney.

The EES provides technical input into economic empowerment grants submissions, advice and support on economic empowermental components of other programs and projects; provides capacity building (technical assistance and training) at the country level for the economic empowermental area. The position will also ensure the quality and accuracy of economic empowerment program and project messages, materials, tools, and indicators being developed and utilized in economic empowerment program as well as with other ChildFund programs. The EES provides highest level of technical leadership and quality assurance in Vietnam for the economic empowerment.

The EES contributes to, and represents ChildFund Vietnam in NGO networking and entities concerned with economic empowerment through research and advocacy initiatives. The EES is responsible for developing ChildFund Vietnam’s position and approach on key issues related to economic empowerment. This includes identifying issues to advocate on and developing and promoting organisational positions on such issues.
