National Technical Advisor, Sustainable Energy

WWF-Vietnam is seeking a motivated National Technical Advisor, Sustainable Energy who will be working for project: “Demonstrating the economic, environmental and social benefits of Sustainable Energy to corporates and financial institutions in Vietnam”. He/She will be responsible for: (i) providing technical assistance and advice support on overall project management, advance capacity building and implementation of activities concerning the Sustainable Energy for Corporate Sectors project; (2) supporting the cooperation with project stakeholders for effective implementation and synergies at international and national levels; and (3) To ensure the effective transfer and adaptability of the international expertise, lessons and best practices to the production of quality project outputs.
Base location: Hanoi, Vietnam
Key requirements:
- A Master degree or corresponding qualifications in energy/environmental management, engineering, economics, international development, political science and/or subjects relevant to sustainable energy and promotion of technical commercial partnerships in energy/environmental management.
- At least 10 years of extensive work experience in one or more related fields such as: promotion of sustainable energy development, energy planning and policies, energy efficiency/renewable energy initiatives; and/or cleaner production.
- Knowledge and experience on promotion of small and medium enterprises; development of financial mechanisms; implementation of energy/environmental regulations; energy policy development and institutional capacity building.
- Proven experience with energy efficiency in industry sectors.
- Strong links with relevant national and international organizations is preferred.
- Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team with complex problems in diverse institutions and cultural settings.
