CTCN - UNIDO project: Bio-waste minimization and valorisation for low carbon production in the rice sector - Vietnam
SNV Netherlands Development Organization has been working in Vietnam since 1995. Using market based approaches, SNV is committed to reducing poverty by catalyzing environmentally sustainable solutions for the poor through agriculture, energy and water, sanitation & hygiene.
SNV was selected by UNIDO and the Climate Technology Center and Network (CTCN) to provide technical assistance to MoNRE on rice husk valorisation optimization. One of the activities is to develop an excel tool which aims to evaluate the certain valorization options of rice husk based on financial and other indicators.
SNV is looking for someone who is familiar with excel and VBA programming of the tool for an estimated 15 man-day input. The person must be fulltime available in the period 10-22 April 2017 to develop a draft version of the tool and a week in May for the final version.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of the VBA programming of the tool in close cooperating with SNV staff
- Ensure that the is tool aesthetically pleasing and user friendly
- Debug the tool and ensure proper functionality
- Ensure that the tool is easy to maintain and update
The candidate ideally has the following profile
- Extensive experience with Visual Basic Applications (VBA)
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication skills and a team player
- English and Vietnamese language skills
- Eye for design in excel
- Committed and able to meet deadlines. This may require working over the weekends.
Outputs
- Draft user friendly and aesthetically pleasing valorization tool programmed with VBA that is easy to update and maintain by SNV
- Final version of the above after integrating received comments and feedback
- Training of selected SNV staff on the functioning of the tool
Duration: Around 15 working days in the period of April – May 2017
