School Health & Nutrition Project Officer

Save the Children started our work in Vietnam in 1990, and implements programs in the key thematic areas: Education, Health and Nutrition, Child Protection, Child Rights and Governance, Child Poverty, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Emergency Response. At present, Vietnam Country Office has programs in 20 out of 63 provinces in Vietnam.

Save the Children in Vietnam continues to develop innovative programming that reflects the overall strategic goal of measurably improving the survival, health, protection and development of Vietnam’s poorest children by strengthening the capacity of women and children, caring adults, communities and partner organizations.

We are looking for one Vietnamese national for:

Vacancy: School Health & Nutrition Project Officer

Based in Hochiminh City

Main Responsibilities:Project Officer (PO) works under the technical guidance by Project Manager and the supervision of Area Manager and in close coordination with the project team, local partners to ensure effective, efficient and cost-sensitive operations of School health and Nutrition Project (Phase 4- Extension) in Tien Giang Province  (the Project).

Key Competencies:

Essential

  • University degree in social sciences or related field;

  • Good project management, communication and capacity building skills;

  • Solid understanding of the Vietnamese government system;

  • Positive attitude to working with children in schools, parents, school and community leaders.

  • Have at least 3-5 years experience working in the development areas in general, education project in particular;

  • Experiences in working with school health and education projects.

  • Ability to learn quickly and respond to multiple demands;

  • Experience working in schools with school management and students;

  • Fluency in English speaking and writing

Desirable

  • Experience of managing sub-grants;

  • Knowledge of child participation, child right governance is a plus;

  • Ability to learn quickly and respond to multiple demands;

  • Ability to travel frequently to project sites for project monitoring.
