Gender responsive budgeting workshop
Accelerating the implementation the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) will require strengthened accountability mechanisms for gender equality. One of the effective methods that is capable of meeting and overcoming challenges to promote gender equality is gender responsive budgeting (GRB). In some countries in the Asia Pacific region, GRB has been used effectively by civil society organizations to strengthen State accountability towards gender equality and the empowerment of women.
In the context that Vietnam has made progress on legislation to promote gender equality, including the amended Budget Law in 2015 with provisions on gender equality in revenue and expenditure, the United Nations Office Entity on Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), with financial support from the Government of Ireland, organizes a workshop on sharing experience in the application of GRB tools in monitoring the quality of public services in localities. Accordingly, UN Women would like to cordially invite you to the workshop with detailed information as follows:
