Position Title: Construction Supervisor
Work Location: Projects’ Sites in Northern
Report to: Senior Program Manager

Job Summary
Construction Supervisor plays vital roles:
- in partnering with local authorities conducting construction surveys at grass-root level;
- in ensuring safety conditions before and during the construction builds
- in transferring construction knowledge and skills to communities
Key Accountabilities
1. Contributing to organizational (HfHV) sustainable development
- Maintain & promote HFHI image and reputation to partners and other stakeholders
2. Key functional responsibilities
- Following family selection standard to conduct family selection process and identifying home-partners’ housing improvement needs.
- Monitor construction activities to insure the required quality & safety meeting HFHV’s Housing Standard and low cost of Habitat for Humanity home improvements according to agreed plans and budgets
- Evaluate and recommend designs, materials, processes and methods of construction
- Support the families and partners in the development of build plan, purchase of materials and training for local masons.
- Monitoring of construction progress and Sign off completion of house improvement, toilet and water systems
- Prepare, check to ensure adequate construction tools, personal protective equipment are in place with good usage condition per requirements.
- Provide construction technical instruction including safety orientation to local masons, volunteers and oversee technical & safety conditions during the build
3. Implementing cross-team activities/projects
- Take & provide photos about builds, families etc. in accordance with guidance from RD&C team
- Interact with relevant PSI member(s) to implement housing and other standards, guideline etc.
4. Implementing compliance
- Ensure Habitat’s policies like family selection criteria, safety, child protection, conflict of interest, non-discrimination etc. are fully considered & observed during planning, implementing construction works
- Following financial policies and procedure to ensure purchases and payments are fully compliant
Working condition & context
- Working in build sites and rural areas
- The job requires very frequently discussion/interaction with supervisor, homeowners, local partners and vendors
Job requirements:
To be successful in this role, potential candidate should demonstrate following qualification & willingness & availability to travel to visit fields in unfavorable geographic regions/areas.
- Construction certificate or equivalent
- Soft skills include:
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings
- Has experience to do basic construction works: mixing mortar, laying brick, form work, rebar work, finishing work,
- Has experience to supervise construction works,
- Knowledge of government regulations on construction safety, local building codes, construction techniques, requirements and other appropriate governmental regulations
- Basic usage of AutoCAD
