Senior Project Manager

Job Title: Senior Project Manager (HCM City based)

I. JOB PURPOSE

  • Reporting directly to Director of Operations, the Senior Project Manager, with the support of the respective project managers,
    is responsible for oversee the management, coordination and administration of all the aspects of the projects in-charge,
    ensuring that the projects in-charge are implemented in a way that are relevant to the mission and values and strategic directions of the Foundation,
  • Whilst leading and managing the respective project managers, take part and contribute in creating the Foundation and/or CNCF Vietnam’s vision and in developing strategic plan for CNCF Vietnam.

II. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

Overall Leadership

  • Continuously review project plan and develop new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the organization.

Project Management

  • Oversee the overall management of projects/programs’ operations, including the planning, budgeting, implementation and evaluation of the projects/programs in charge and its services.
  • Coordinate the delivery of services among different program activities to increase effectiveness and efficiency of program services
  • Provide direction, guidance, feedback and support to the directly reporting Project Coordinators/Managers, ensuring the effective delivery of the overall program and its activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the organization.
  • Monitor the development and implementation of the projects/programs long-term goals and objectives with the aim that the projects/programs achieve quality and sustainable impacts.
  • Ensure that the program operate within the approved budget
  • Identify and evaluate the risks associated with project/program activities and take appropriate action to control the risks.
  • Supervise the production and continuous improvement of project documents and project related materials, including but not limited to, project reports, project descriptions, project manuals, project databases, project proposals.

Project Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Develop project evaluation framework to assess the strengths and areas of improvement of all CNCF project implementation.
  • Supervise the periodical and/or annual evaluations of CNCF projects/programs.

Staff management and development

  • Ensure all the direct reports receive orientation and appropriate training in accordance with organizational standards and requirements.
  • Responsible for staff performance monitoring, ensure that staff conducts are in accordance with the Foundation’s policies and procedures.
  • Take part in the process of staff recruitment.
  • Provide guidance and support to the direct reports.

Public relations, Marketing and Fund raising

  • Develop funding proposals for the program to ensure the continuous delivery of services.

III. JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Vietnamese with a Bachelor degree in relevant or social science discipline, e.g. social work, sociology, international development, community development, psychology, business or equivalent.
  • At least five years of project management development work experience.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Vietnamese and in both writing and speaking.
  • Excellent in development project management, proposal and report writing.
  • Advanced computer skills and experience working with database, Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.

Desired traits:

  • Guidance, leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, flexibility and able to cope with traumatic situations.
  • Previous experience working within a child environment and knowledge of Non-Government Organizations (NGO) and knowledge in social work (case work, child psycho) is preferred.
