PATH is implementing The Introducing Digital Immunization information systems–Exchange And Learning from Vietnam (IDEAL project), working closely with Vietnam’s Ministry of Health (MOH) to facilitate a successful transition to an entirely paperless National Immunization Information System (NIIS) and generate and share evidence-based and data-driven learning and experience from Vietnam to inform, influence, and accelerate the successful implementation of similar tools in other countries and contexts.

PATH is currently recruiting for a Program Officer to provide support for implementation of the IDEAL project including monitoring, research and publications on the transit process for NIIS in Vietnam.

The Program Officer will report to Project Director and work closely with PATH Vietnam and HQ teams, and country partners to execute high quality programming. Our partners include but are not limited to the General Department of Preventive Medicine (GDPM), Ministry of Health, National Expanded Immunization Program (NEPI), Hanoi and Son La provincial partners, Viettel, private sector, and other related international/national agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with M&E HQ team to develop research protocols, tools, data analysis plan and report writing
  • Take lead the implementation of data collection, data entry and data analysis
  • Provide technical assistance to partners in project provinces for monitoring and improvement of program activities
  • Participate in the development of a project work plan, including budgeting
  • Support to develop the implementation guideline and toolkits for the process to paperless for EPI program
  • Assist to provide trainings for health workers in project provinces and provide technical support through supportive supervisions
  • Support to develop the e-learning system to enhance knowledge and skills of health workers on the NIIS
  • Other tasks as required by the Project Director

Required skills and experiences:

  • Advanced degree of Public health professional or relevant background
  • A minimum of 3 years working experience in vaccination program and/or infectious disease or other relevant public health topics
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills on research methods, both qualitative and quantitative studies
  • Analysis & results dissemination skills; experiences in publications is a plus
  • Experiences in health information system is a plus
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team
  • Good written and spoken English
  • High level of computer proficiency
  • Willingness and ability to travel within Vietnam/international/regional up to 30 percent per year

Must have legal authorization to work in Vietnam.
