Finance Coordinator
JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
Samaritan’s Purse International Relief (SPIR) is a Christian nonprofit organization providing aid to hurting people around the world. With a 22 year history working in Vietnam, SPIR has developed strong relationships with partners to conduct projects in 5 sectors health, education, protection, livelihood and relief.
SPIR Vietnam’s projects are being implemented in Hanoi, Quang Nam, the central province of Vietnam and across the northern provinces of Lao Cai, Yen Bai and Lai Chau where the majority of people are from ethnic minority groups, often the most vulnerable or marginalized sections of the population.
We are now seeking highly qualified Vietnamese candidate for the following position:
Position Title: Finance Coordinator
Grade: Senior Admin
Position Duration: 01 Year with possibility of extension
Duty Station: Hanoi with travelling to project areas
Reports To: Finance Manager
Job Summary:
The Finance Coordinator implements and coordinates all financial and budgetary aspects of Samaritan's Purse International Relief Vietnam (SPIR Vietnam) as assigned under the direction of the Finance Manager. The position conducts administrative field accounting, expenditures, bookkeeping, and payroll tasks as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure financial/accounting activity is carried out in accordance with Samaritan's Purse International Relief (SPIR) field accounting policies and applicable national laws
- Manage review of financial transactions and supporting documentation in an organized and professional manner
- Record and process vendors’ payments via SPIR approved accounting software (Serenic)
- Maintain accuracy of financial records which includes reviewing partners financial records
- Organize all documentation related to the financial close process each month
- Prepare monthly Project Activity Reports and Request For Funds reports and submit to Program Managers in a timely manner
- Assist the Finance Manager with ensuring adequate cash flow for operations and secure storage of cash in the office
- Manage the reconciliation of cash on a weekly basis and investigate any over/under situations
- Maintain close and cooperative working relationships with fellow financial staff, the Finance Manager and Program Managers
- Provide support to Program Managers with regard to financial policies, practices, and budget management as required
- Communicate directly with Partners on financial management issues, reporting, and allocation of funds in cooperation with the SPV programs teams
- Support Finance Manager and other stakeholders in yearly project budget preparations and regular budget reviews
- Assist with preparation of monthly bank reconciliation for all bank accounts
- Prepare monthly journal entries and finalize all transactions
- Assist in facilitation of both internal and external audits
- Collaborate with HR Manager reviewing and processing monthly payroll and stay afresh of all related Vietnam payroll taxes laws and regulations
- Find areas of improvement for the betterment of financial operations and practices in the finance department
- Identify ways to develop the capacity of SPIR Vietnam staff in all areas of basic financial management
- Performing all other tasks and responsibilities assigned for the benefit of SPIR Vietnam with a generous and serving spirit

- Other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.
Qualifications needed:

- High level of integrity with strong work ethic
- Strong relational skills and financial management experience
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations
- Clear and professional communicator in both verbal and written form
- Experience with foreign currencies and budgets management preferred
- Capacity to solve problems logically in a demanding and complicated circumstances
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; particularly Excel
- Ability to travel to field sites to monitor finances
- Cash handling, payroll, and coding experience
- Ability to maintain mental and physical focus during routine tasks
- Ability to create personal systems to manage the details of documenting and processing financial transactions
- High level of attention to detail, anticipation and follow up are core values of the job function while maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality regarding contracts and salaries
- Possesses strong organizational and problem solving skills in a fast-paced environment

Education/Experience Needed:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3 to 5 years of Accounts Payable and payroll experience, preferably with an NGO
- Fluency in Vietnamese including writing, reading and speaking is required
- Advance level of English is required
This is a full time position that will begin with a two month probationary period. JD available upon request.
