Country Trainer for PDEP

At present, Vietnam Country Office has programs in 20 out of 63 provinces in Vietnam.

Consultant’s responsibilities:

This scope of work is designated for country trainers in the program Positive Discipline in Everyday Parenting (PDEP). Those Country trainers were selected and underwent the PDEP practice course and have the capacity to continue the implementation of the PDEP program phase 2. This scope of work is intended to clarify the roles and responsibilities of the country trainers when participating in the program.

For Parent program

  • Recruit and select parents appropriate for the PDEP parent program
  • Teach and share PDEP program for 8 consecutive weeks
  • Facilitate the discussion of parents group in session 9

For Facilitator training

  • Interview and select facilitators
  • Teach continuously for 5 days to the facilitator group guided by program content
  • Attend mentorship sessions led by PDEL
  • After the training, mentor the facilitator group in 8 sessions of the program. In particular, there will be 3 direct supervision sessions.

Other tasks

  • Facilitate the discussion of large parents group every 2 months
  • Implement the program in SC project areas as needed
  • Support SC to carry out communication activities for the program
  • Participate in quarterly meetings
  • Participate in training courses about SC's policies in accordance with the program's activities
  • Participate in other activities as needed

Requirements for Country Trainers

  • Having attended a training course for country trainers in 2019 organized by SC
  • Wishing to spread and share with the parent community
  • Complying with the content of the program

Output

Each country trainers will hold at least one PDEP program for parents and mentorship sessions for facilitators. The number of programs may change depending on parent recruitment and SC’s approval and in accordance with SC's budget.
