Consultants for Child Protection Project (Short-term Project Officers)

We are looking for a Vietnamese national for:

Main Responsibilities:

The selected individual will collaborate with SCI staff and partners to implement the following tasks:

  • Cooperate with finance staff and program staff of both SCI and project’s partners to ensure advances and financial reports of project’s partners (including 2 partners in Hanoi and 1 partner in Ho Chi Minh City) are processed effectively, timely and in compliance with SCI’s cost norm and financial regulations.
  • Review procurement documents and monitor procurement process implemented by partners to ensure they follow SCI’s regulations.
  • Support the CPP program team to monitor the component under two sub grant with Department of Children in Hanoi and with Dolisa in Ho Chi Minh City
  • Provide support and supervision to relevant partners to ensure quality, participatory, effective, efficient and cost-sensitive planning, implementation, monitoring/reviewing, reporting and evaluation processes of the Child Protection (CP) program activities in the project areas, with and by partners;
  • Monitor project activities conducted by partners to ensure project activities implemented as per work plan;
  • Propose solutions to address assessed needs and adjust implementation approaches to attain or maintain the highest quality based on assessment and ongoing monitoring and evaluation;
  • Actively collaborate with sectoral colleagues in SCI Vietnam to promote shared directions, exchange best practices, and provide assistance.

Key Competencies:

  • University degree in social sciences or related field;
  • Have at least 3 years of experience working in the development areas, working with children, especially ethnic minorities ones;
  • Ability to learn quickly and respond to multiple demands;
  • Positive attitude to working with children in schools, parents, school and community leaders;
  • Experience working in schools with school management and students;
  • Knowledge of child participation, child right governance is a plus.
  • Excellent in communication and capacity building skills;
  • Solid understanding of the Vietnamese government system;
  • Fluency in English speaking and writing.
