Consultant(s) to Provide an Engaging and Interactive Training to Improve the Writing Skills of Staff

VVOB is a non-profit organisation with over 35 years of experience in improving the quality of education systems from a rights-based perspective. VVOB has currently long-term partnerships with education actors in 9 countries in the South (Cambodia, DR Congo, Ecuador, Rwanda, South Africa, Suriname, Vietnam, Zambia and Uganda) and in Belgium/Flanders. Its annual budget is around 13 million euros.

To strengthen VVOB staff’s skills in writing articles, especially for web publication (media news and features, mobile and social media posts, etc.), VVOB is looking for a consultant/a team of consultants to provide an engaging and interactive training to improve the writing skills of our staff.

Scope of the consultancy

The consultant is expected to deliver:

• An engaging and interactive (online) training spread over (at least) 2 half days to around 20 VVOB staff to improve their writing skills as mentioned in above objectives
• Self-improvement guideline/exercises after the training sessions
• Relevant materials (soft copies) related to the training
• A training report upon completing the training that describes:
  
  • the training objectives, if and how they were reached
  • participants' participation and learning progress
  • concludes on a way forward for VVOB’s internal learning’

We value your experiences and vision of providing training. We, therefore, want to hear your advice on the suggested scope of work and the consultancy objectives. The consultant will work closely with the appointed staff of VVOB to discuss and agree on proposed activities both before and during the implementation of the training sessions.

Application requirements

VVOB is inviting bidders to submit a proposal containing at least following elements:

A technical proposal:

A detailed description of the methodologies that will be used to lead to required training objectives.
To evidence the consultant’s expertise:

• An up-to-date credential, company or professional profile, and portfolio
• References and other information supporting the required expertise listed above
• List of 3 previous assignments with their contact details

A financial proposal:

• Submitted in excel with sufficient information: name, address, contact number, duration of quotation validation, method of payment.
• A detailed financial proposal, covering all costs, including an estimation of the to-be-invested ‘working hours’ for consultation, preparation, facilitation, report writing, any costs for materials/equipment/software licenses required, taxes and other fees – if any   
• VAT/ Tax registration number (if applicable)
