OF THE CALL FOR PROPOSALS FOR DEVELOPING A MOBILE APP ON PROCESS-ORIENTED CHILD MORNITORING
VVOB – education for development is an international non-profit organisation with over 35 years of experience in quality education. Through capacity development, VVOB provides support to ministries of education in Africa, Asia and South America to improve (initial) professional development of teachers and school leaders in early childhood, primary, general secondary, and technical and vocational education.
The process-oriented child monitoring system offers the foundation to understand children’s learning through well-being and involvement as process indicators and offers concrete inspiration for teachers to take actions based on the 8 action points for experiential education. Being a cornerstone of Process-Oriented child Monitoring, both class screenings (2-3 times per academic year) and class scans during activities are essential. Teachers spend quite some time to note the observations and record them on the paper template. The paper file however does not naturally facilitate collaboration among teachers and/or the school leaders. The paper-based database also presents disadvantages, including time-consuming data transfer from paper to the data hub, analysis, scalability of storage, lack of back-up, etc.
Recording the child observations in an app must:
- Facilitate recording for the teacher
- Provide information for sharing and learning between teachers in one school
- Help analyse trends at the classroom and school level
- Provide pre-programmed guidance, motivation and points for reflection to the teacher
VVOB invites mobile app developers that meet the mentioned eligibility criteria in the call for proposals to submit a clear and elaborate proposal. Please read the attached call for proposals for getting full detail about the required profile of the developer and application requirements.
The proposal should be proven the expertise and experience in developing apps, especially in the education sector. The application folder must be in English language and includes documents as below:
- A portfolio showcasing previously developed apps
- References and other information supporting the required expertise listed above
- An up-to-date CV of all involved members/technical staff
- Cost estimations as required
