Hiring a group of consultants to conduct the Training of Trainers (ToT) on Social Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) in maternal and newborn care (MNC) in Dak Lak and Son La province for the “Transforming maternal and newborn care for healthier ethnic minority families” project

SC will be implementing the project “Transforming maternal and newborn care for healthier ethnic minority families” in Son La and Dak Lak in the next three years (July 2021 to June 2024). The overall goal of the project is to contribute to reduce maternal and newborn mortality in ethnic minority in Son La and Dak Lak in the middle of 2024.
To achieve this goal, SC will partner with Son La and Dak Lak Department of Health (DOH) to (1) increase awareness on healthy maternal and newborn practices among ethnic minority families and create demand for the available services in Son La and Dak Lak provinces; (2) improve health facilities' capacity to meet pregnant women's needs (capacity of health workers, privacy, respect, infrastructure) in Son La and Dak Lak province; and (3) advocate for utilizing lessons learnt and replicating good practices from the project to other districts in Son La and Dak Lak province and to other provinces.
To contribute to the output 2.1 – Build Health Workers’ capacity in caring for pregnant mothers and newborns under the above outcome 2, SC and Dak Lak DOH and Son La DOH/CDC will organize a Training of Trainers on SBCC in MNC for provincial and district level’s staff.
Save the children is seeking two national consultants including one core-trainer and one trainer assistant to conduct two four-day training courses on SBCC in MNC (pregnancy, delivery, postnatal and newborn care) for provincial and district trainers of Dak Lak and Son La (one course for each province). This training course plans to be conducted in January 2022 in Dak Lak and in February 2022 in Son La.

Location and official travel involved
- 01 core trainer will supply services among 10 working days as timeline from 12 January to 22 February 2022 including 1 day for developing training documents, 8 days for conducting training courses in Dak Lak and Son La province and 1 day for writing report.
- 01 trainer assistant will supply services among 8 working days as timeline from 18-21 January and 15-18 February 2022 for assisting 2 training courses in Dak Lak and Son La province.
Services the Supplier will provide
- Develop training plan and training curriculum (training handout, presentation, guidelines, pre/post test, preparation list...) (1 day);
- Conduct two four-day training courses on SBCC in MNC for provincial and district trainers in Buon Ma Thuot city (Dak Lak) and in Son La city (Son La) (8 working days + 4 traveling days);
- Prepare and submit training report and recommendation for next plan (1 day).
Experience and skill set required
- Core-trainer
- Bachelor’s Degree on Medicine or Public Health. Master degree/PhD is preferred.
- At least 10-year working experience in health education and behaviour change communication.
- At least 5-year experience in conducting trainings for provincial trainers on SBCC in Maternal and Newborn Care.
- Have extensive experience and skills in participatory training methods, especially community-based health care program running by NGOs.
- Have knowledge in health system in Viet Nam.

- Bachelor’s Degree on Medicine or Public health.
- At least 5-year working experience in health education and communication.
- Have experiences on supporting to conduct participatory training courses.
- Strong competence and experience on SBCC training.
- Have knowledge in health system in Viet Nam.
