Project “PARTICIPATE: Empowered CSOs and ethnic minority youth

for active participation in decision making in Yen Bai province, Vietnam”

Terms of Reference (ToR)

Save the Children International/ Vietnam Country Office (SCI) has been implementing the project “PARTICIPATE: Empowered CSOs and ethnic minority youth for active participation in decision making in Yen Bai, Vietnam”. The overall objective of the project is for CSOs in Vietnam to effectively promote youth capacity and initiative in governance and development processes. Implementing partners will play a key role to create opportunities for ethnic minority youth to actively participate in relevant matters that have impacts on their lives. The project also has aim at ensuring that target social organizations and implementing partners in Yen Bai province have the capacity to support the capacity for start-up and the socio-economic development of vulnerable minority youth, their engagement and active participation in decision making and in the promotion of gender equality. This will help redress the limited role that minority youth currently play in decision-making processes in the field of start-up businesses for the socio-economic development in Vietnam.

Objective

The objective of this scope of work is to translate the "The document on Lifeskills for Success (LS4S) for local youth” attached from Vietnamese to English. The SCI project management team will use the translated materials to advocate for the project intervention’s results and distribute the training manual for partners.

Services the Supplier will provide

Save the Children is seeking for a professional consultant to provide services for Save the Children to translate the mentioned training manual from Vietnamese into English.

Experience and skill set required

• Advanced University Degree in English
• At least 5 years of experience in translating the documents relating to training manual, social development area, education, life skills.
• Have strong knowledge on international development, social development, social sciences
• Able to allocate resource for a tight deadline contract
• Strong experience in translating the same types of documents

Expected Deliverables

A translator will start the work from 28th March 2022 and must complete by 18th April 2022. The Vietnamese training manual includes nearly 91 pages (350 words/ page) and needs to be translated into English.

Estimated Commencement Date: 28th March 2022

Estimated End Date: 18th April 2022

Status updates/reporting

The Supplier shall provide the progress update with Project Team every 3 days.

Payment information

Detail the payment arrangement for the services. To better control costs the SCI preference is that payment is made on a milestone basis, on specific dates or all on satisfactory completion of the work.

100% of the total cost payable within 10 days of satisfactory completion of translated document.
