We believe girls have the power to change the world. Our ambition is to work alongside them and together take action so that 2 million girls in Vietnam can learn, lead, decide and thrive by 2022.

Child sponsorship is the basic foundation of the organization. Plan International’s vision is of a world in which all children realize their full potential in societies that respect people’s rights and dignity.

Project description:

The Transformation Change Management process of Country Office programs and operations was officially launched globally in 2017.  Plan International Vietnam (PIV) was allocated a commencement date of FY20.  This transformation was to better align Country Offices with the global strategy, look for efficiencies and effectiveness in programs and operations and prepare the office for the future in the increasingly complicated world of international aid and development. Given the commitment from the senior team within PIV to this necessary transformative change, Plan Vietnam took incremental diagnostic steps towards transformation since 2017.  There have been a number of strategic steps taken in the previous years in preparation for the transformation. Since 2016, (FY17) PIV has gradually changed in program, support function, culture and organization. However, in preparation for the FY20 (June 2019) start date, in November 2018, PIV formally ‘kicked off’ the process with a workshop with the extended PIV country management team - “Celebration of our Work and Preparing for Change”. As part of the PIV transformation activities, we are now ready for the “Learn and Improve” stage of the process, where we can reflect on our change that has been continuously improved activities – and we are ready to reflect on the entire process, and celebrate our achievements and learn from our challenges. This process will allow PIV to move forward with a “Formalized Post Implementation Review” to draw a line that transformation process is complete. The scope of work of this review is to look at all the Transformation Strategic Objectives.
