We are looking for 01 UBS Climate Adaptation Advisor, WWF-Viet Nam, based in Ha Noi /Ho Chi Minh/Can Tho
Major Functions
The Climate Adaptation Advisor will support the Project Manager in the planning, management, implementation and monitoring of the UBS OF project and be responsible for adaptation works in the project areas to ensure the compliance with the Project Documents, WWF network standards and Donor policy. The position is also requested to provide technical support and advice to all activities related to adaptation works under WWF-Viet Nam Programme.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager on the development, implementation and monitoring of project climate adaptation activities in close consultation with partners and on ensuring that the project attains its objectives as timely, cost-effectively and efficiently as possible;
- Lead on providing related technical advices and inputs of climate adaptation, NBS, EbA into related project works including technical studies/researches;
- Lead the development of documenting NBS & adaptation lessons learned, best practices and lead technical workshops, seminars, meetings, trainings, learning and sharing events in relation to adaptation and NBS works;
- Coordinate closely with all key stakeholders (multi-sectoral, government and non-government) at local, national and regional levels to ensure the smooth implementation of related project activities.
- Undertake other relevant works as assigned by the Project Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent in natural resource management, climate change, environment, water resources management, conservation or in relevant fields;
- Good experience in conducting studies and coordinating research activities;
- Excellent knowledge and experience of climate change and development issues in Mekong Delta in particular and Viet Nam in general;
- Knowledge of the context of Viet Nam regarding climate change policies;
- 5 years of practical experience in either NGOs or the United Nations or bilateral development agencies, 2 years of which should be in related fields;
