Consultant to Conduct Trainings on the Development of Project's Documentation Products - Project "Zurich-Flood Resilience Alliance"
1. Introduction:
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights, with a special focus on equality for girls. Plan International has over 80 years experience and works in more than 75 countries across the world.
Plan International has been working in northern and central Vietnam since 1993. Our work supports marginalised children and youth, especially adolescent girls, to start life and grow up physically and mentally healthy and as adolescents so they are leading the way to shape their own future. We believe girls have the power to change the world. Our ambition is to work alongside them and together take action so that 2 million girls in Vietnam can learn, lead, decide and thrive by 2025.
The project “Zurich-Flood Resilience Alliance” is funded by Zurich Insurance Group with an aim to help communities improve their ability to deal with the impact of floods, or building resilience to floods through the Flood Resilience Measurement for Community (FRMC) approach by applying FRMC framework and tools over the project circle.
It is the first time this approach is piloted in Vietnam and being implemented by Plan International Vietnam in partnership with ISET to reach the following objectives:
- FRMC Tool and Framework has been applied well to support increased resilience for target communities
- Advocate for the FRMC to be adapted to the existing local community ased disaster risk management through influencing/advocacy activities
- Influencing/advocating FRMC through dissemination at different levels and collecting evidence for the Alliance on the FRMC application in Vietnam
2. Purpose of consultancy:
As this is the first time of piloting, it’s necessary to documents all good practices and lesson learnt during the implementation that would contribute to the process of advocacy and dissemination of project’s approach and achievements in the future. The products of documentation could be in different methods such as: storytelling, case study, video, photo voice, etc. In order to ensure the quality of those products, a training on how to develop documentation products for project staffs and partners is needed.
In order to help staff and partners (1) understand the necessity of documentation’s purpose and process, (2) define key products of documentation under ZFRA project, and (3) understand how to develop and produce key products define, Plan International is looking for competent consultants to provide a training that is expect to help:
- 95% of trainees indicated the necessity of documentation’s purpose by the end of training
- A list of key documentation’s products developed with detailed plan of delivery
- 80% of trainees know how to develop and produce key defined products.
3. Key deliverables:
The consultants/experts are expected to provide the following key deliverables:
- A 03-day course of in-person training for 30 people;
- Direct instruction on how to produce documentation products. Practice and interactions are a crucial part of the training.
- The training course involves both theoretical and practical guidance, with 02 day of indoor training and 01 day of outdoor practice at field. Documentation products developed during the course are of good quality that can be used for the project.
- A final training report submitted, including pre/post-training assessment and training materials.
4. Timeframe: The consultancy is estimated to be undertaken from June 21-23, 2022. A detailed timeline will be worked out jointly with the consultants after recruitment.
5. Location: The consultancy will be conducted in Dong Ha City, Quang Tri Province
