National Food Safety Extension Specialist ; National Agrifood Business Specialist
The SAFEGRO project is a Canadian TA funded Project for improvement of the food safety management system of Vietnam. Key partners on this project include the Ministry of Agriculture Rural Development (MARD), the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), and otherVietnamese Academic Institutes. The objective of the project is to improve the performance of central and local governments in enforcing food safety regulations; increase the competitiveness of Vietnamese agricultural products domestically and internationally; and increasing consumer demand for safe agricultural products in Vietnam. The 5 year project (2020-2025) will work across the entire agro-food value chain by engaging and enhancing the capacities of three key target groups: the public sector (facilitation), the private sector (supply side) and consumers (demand side).
In partnership with the University of Guelph (Canada), Alinea International is Project Implemenation Agency that will work with national and regional governments to improve food safety regulations, private sector suppliers to increase the competitiveness of Vietnamese food products domestically and internationally, and consumers to improve demand for safe food in Vietnam.
